Privacy Policy

The short version

• You do not need an account, name, or password to practice.
• Lesson progress, XP, and streaks are stored in your own browser.
• The site uses Google Analytics (measurement ID G-3GFMM34FLC) to see which pages are useful.
• I do not sell your information.

No account required

Today, CardPractice does not ask you to register. There is no profile, no login wall in front of euchre or cribbage practice, and no requirement that you drop an email address before a lesson.

If I add optional accounts later, this policy will change, and I will say so on this page.

Progress stored in your browser

XP, streaks, and which lessons you have finished are saved locally on your device (in the browser). That is so you can close the tab and pick up later on the same phone or computer.

Because it lives in the browser:

• Clearing site data, using a different device, or switching browsers will look like a fresh start.
• I do not get a copy of your XP on a CardPractice server just because you completed a lesson.
• Other people who use the same browser profile on that device can see the same progress.

This is a trainer, not a cloud backup. Treat local progress as a convenience, not a vault.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4, property ID G-3GFMM34FLC, to answer basic questions: which games people open, whether a how-to page is helping, and where the site breaks on a phone.

Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar storage, and it may collect standard usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location from IP, device type, and referral site. Google handles that data under its own policy.

I use this to improve lessons and practice, not to build a marketing dossier on you. I do not use analytics to decide your hand of euchre.

You can block analytics cookies with browser settings or common privacy extensions. The games still work.

What I do not collect on purpose

I do not ask for your address, payment card, or government ID. Practice is free.

I do not need your real name to deal a 24-card euchre deck. If you email me, I will have the email address you used and whatever you wrote. I use that to reply.

I do not run the lessons through a hidden identity graph. I do not sell lists of "people who practiced Hearts."

Cookies and local storage

• Local storage / similar browser storage: progress, XP, settings, and the fact that you have been here.
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics): usage measurement, as described above.

That is the set I know about today. If a lesson page needs an extra cookie to function, it will be for the trainer, not for a pop-up maze.

How long things hang around

Browser progress stays until you clear it or the browser drops it.

Analytics data is kept according to the Google Analytics settings on the property. I do not need it forever. I need it long enough to see whether a new euchre explainer is doing its job.

Emails you send to hello@cardpractice.com stay in that inbox until the conversation is done and I no longer need the thread.

Children

CardPractice teaches card games. It is not aimed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child under 13 sent me personal information, email hello@cardpractice.com and I will delete it.

Third-party pages I link to

Lessons link around CardPractice (euchre, hearts, cribbage, practice tables). If I ever link off-site, that other site has its own privacy rules. This policy covers cardpractice.com.

Changes

If the trainer starts requiring accounts, adds a new analytics tool, or otherwise changes what is collected, I will update this page and the date at the top.
